Many divers describe the NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver course as the most challenging—and the most rewarding— training they’ve ever completed. Why? Because you learn how to prevent, recognize, and manage problems in the water, gaining the confidence that comes from knowing you can help yourself and others when it matters.
At YSS Dive, Rescue is where divers transition from simply reacting to situations to truly thinking ahead. You’ll become a stronger buddy, a calmer problem-solver, and a more aware diver—while still keeping the experience engaging and supportive. It’s serious training, with plenty of laughter in between the focused learning.

How the Course Works
The course combines knowledge development with hands-on rescue exercises and realistic scenarios. You’ll learn what to look for, how to respond, and how to remain calm and effective—then apply those skills during instructor-led rescue scenarios.
Equipment & Gear
You’ll use your standard scuba equipment and will need a pocket mask for in-water resuscitation practice. Training may also include oxygen units, floats, marker buoys, and CPR mannequins. Your instructor will review required and recommended gear, including optional items like a personal first aid kit that can support you throughout your diving career.
